ATKINS:  Arlene Claire Murray, age 84, died Sunday, January 28, 2007 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids following a brief illness.
     Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM, Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Atkins with Rev. Douglas Woltemath and Rev. Dr. Gregory Hollis officiating.  Interment will be held at St. Stephen's Cemetery near Atkins.  The visitation will also be held at the church on Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM.
     Arlene was born October 4, 1922 at Davenport and raised by her adoptive parents John and Hulda (Keiper) Koehn.  On December 20, 1945 she married Jacob Lieb and he preceded her in death in 1947.  She married Billy K. Murray on April 9, 1950 at Atkins.  He preceded her in death on December 19, 1998.
     For sixteen years, Arlene was employed as a computer operator at the Atkins Savings Bank prior to her retirement in 1988.  Arlene was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Atkins.  In her leisure she enjoyed traveling, and walking and loved nature. 
     She is survived by her son, Jay (Cheryl) Lieb of Atkins, her daughter, Jean (Rev. Dr. Gregory) Hollis of Hilton Head Island, SC; her grandchildren, Joshua Edward Lieb, Eric G. Hollis, Heather Jean (Bryan) Edwards, and Melinda Arlene Hollis; and her great-grandchildren, Kyle B.W. Edwards, and Jacob Murray Edwards.
     In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
     A Memorial Fund has been established for St. Luke's Hospice and St. Stephen's Lutheran Church.
     Phillips Funeral Home in Vinton is in charge of arrangements.
