VINTON - Alice Pippert, age 93, died Sunday, August 5, 2007 at Evergreen Estates in Cedar Rapids, following an extended illness.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vinton with Rev. Clarke Frederick and Vicar David Klinge officiating. Interment will be held at the Dysart Cemetery in Dysart. Friends may call at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. St. in Vinton from 5 to 7 PM on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church in Vinton. Alice was born June 18, 1914 at Dysart to John and Lydia (Horseman) Selk and graduated from the Dysart High School in 1932. On June 18, 1935 she married Richard S. Pippert at Zion Lutheran Church in Dysart. Alice farmed in partnership with her husband in the Garrison area for many years. Richard preceded her in death in 1988. Alice is survived by her daughter and family, Shirley (Terry) Benfer of Cedar Rapids and their children, Jeff (Donna) Benfer of Swisher, and Jodi (Scott) Rogers of Nolensville, TN and their child, Jayden; her son, David (Diane) Pippert of Garrison and their daughters, Renee (Michael) Schnurr and their children, Gibson and Maggie of Roland, and Robin Pippert and special friend, Rick Johnson and her children, Thor and Jovis Shoemaker; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Roberta Meyer and her brothers, Harry, Ray, Vincent, Paul, Albert and LeRoy Selk. Alice will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
