VAN HORNE:  Alvin Sindt, age 95, died Friday evening, November 16, 2007 at the Dennis & Donna  Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha.    
     Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at Grace Lutheran Church in Blairstown with Rev. David Rempfer officiating.  Interment will be held at the Keystone Cemetery in Keystone.  Friends may call at the Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone from 4 to 7 PM on Monday.  A memorial fund has been established.
     Alvin was born November 10, 1912 near Keystone to John and Elfrieda (Gruenewald) Sindt.  On January 22, 1938 he married Charlotte Latchaw at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Luzerne.  She preceded him in death on November 9, 2002.
     Alvin farmed in the Van Horne area until retiring and moving to Van Horne in 1975.       A member of Grace Lutheran Church in Blairstown, Alvin also served on the Van Horne Fire Department for forty years and was a member of the Keystone Turners over forty years where he served as a Board Member and on the District Board.
     Alvin is survived by his son, Jim (Carol) Sindt of Keystone; and his sister, Arlene Rabe of Belle Plaine.
     In addition to his parents and wife, Charlotte, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Glenn, Willis and Lloyd Sindt; and four sisters, Mabel Struck, Inez Selken, Donna Mae Rieck and Leona Rieck.
