BLAIRSTOWN: Albia Anna Wandling, age 98, died Monday, May 1, 2006 at Heritage Nursing & Rehab in Cedar Rapids following an extended illness.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, May 4, 2006 at Calvary United Methodist Church in Blairstown with Rev. Jena Manchester officiating. Interment will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Blairstown. There will be no public visitation and the casket will remain closed at the church. The family will greet friends at a luncheon served at the church following the committal service. A Memorial Fund has been established.

Albia was born March 22, 1908 at Belle Plaine to Edward and Josephine (Homolar) Tehan. Prior to her marriage she taught school in rural Elberon.

On November 20, 1934 she married Forrest Wandling at Cedar Rapids. The couple farmed in rural Blairstown and moved to town following their retirement. Forrest preceded her in death in 1984.

Albia was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Blairstown and United Methodist Women. She truly enjoyed her family.

She is survived by her son, Gary (Audrey) Wandling) of Blairstown; three grandchildren, Shelly (John) Wagner of Traer, Carla (Jim) Drahos of Belle Plaine and Derek (Nikki) Wandling of Walla Walla, WA; twelve great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; her sister, Kathryn Zimmerman of Belle Plaine and her brother, Carl Tehan of Clinton.

In addition to husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Pauline Suchy.
