VINTON: Beulah Mae Fisher, age 98, died Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at the Vinton Lutheran Home following an extended illness.
     Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, March 31, 2007 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Vinton with Rev. Kären Larson officiating.  Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery.  Friends may register at the church from 10 AM until service time. Phillips Funeral Home in Vinton is in charge of arrangements. A memorial fund has been established.
     Beulah was born December 12, 1908 near Vinton to James and Geniva (Eggleston) Brumwell and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1926.   Following graduation she taught country school near Vinton. 
     On August 22, 1929 she married Lawrence E. Fisher at Oak Grove Christian Church near Shellsburg.  The couple farmed in Delaware, Linn and Benton Counties and retired in 1970.  They farmed east of Independence for twenty-eight years.  After retirement the couple enjoyed many winters in Zephyrhills, FL.  Lawrence preceded his wife in death on May 13, 2000.
     Beulah  was a seventy-four year member of the United Methodist Church and a fifty-five year member of The International Order Of The King's Daughters And Sons.  She enjoyed being a member of Mission Stitchers of her Congregation and serving as president of the church circle.  Beulah made hundreds of quilts and was still using her talents until two years ago.
     She is survived by two daughters, Marcella Gruver of Waterloo and Kay (James) Sauer of Orlando, FL; and one son, Roger (Cynthia) Fisher of Waterloo; her son-in-law, James Cornelius of Downers Grove, IL; three grandchildren Marcia Gruver of North Porte, AL, Douglas (Deberoh) Gruver of Riverside, CA, and Brad Gruver of Hampton; her great-grandson, Brandon Gruver of Riverside, CA; and many nieces and nephews.
     In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Betty Cornelius; her son-in-law, Charles Gruver and seven siblings.
