VINTON:  Robert "Bob" Dean Glass, 85, died Thursday, November 12, 2009 at his residence following an extended illness.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM, Monday, November 16, 2009 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vinton with Father David Ambrosy as Celebrant.  Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton, with Graveside Military Rites conducted by Geo.     Bob was born May 3, 1924 near Vinton to Homer D. and Eliza (Hurst) Glass and graduated from the high school in Urbana in 1942.

On October 1, 1943 he was united in marriage to Delores Kramer at the Catholic Church in Oxford Junction.  From 1943 to 1945 he served his nation in the US Navy.

He had been employed by the former Winsor Oil Co and Hawkbilt in Vinton.  For ten years he served as the Veteran Affairs Commissioner for Benton County.  Bob was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vinton.  He was a Past Commander of the VFW, and a 50 year member of Geo.
