KEYSTONE- Carolyn A. Junge, age 73, of died Sunday, May 6, 2007 at Grandview Heights Care Center in Marshalltown following an extended illness.
Private Family Services will be held with Interment at the Keystone Cemetery. Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone is assisting the family. Carolyn was born February 16, 1934 at Cedar Rapids to Charles and Elsie (Kosina) Smrcek and graduated from Roosevelt High School in Cedar Rapids. On October 30, 1955 she was united in marriage to Richard "Dick" Junge at Cedar Rapids. The couple farmed and raised their family on the Junge farm near Keystone and moved to town in 1996. Dick preceded his wife in death in 1999. Carolyn was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and enjoyed membership in the Dorcas Guild of her congregation. She also belonged to the Friendly Neighborhood Card Club, the Legion Auxiliary, and Farm Bureau. Carolyn enjoyed cake decorating, baking and sewing and she loved gardening and music. She especially enjoyed visits with her grandchildren and was very proud of her Czech heritage. She is survived by her daughter, Ann (David) Reinberg of Marshalltown and their children, Brittany, Chelsea and Brandon; her son, Wayne Junge of Cedar Rapids and his son, Jeremy; her brother-in-law, Bob Decker of Cedar Rapids; and her sister-in-law, Betty (Dick) Prusha of Elberon. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Marilyn Decker.
