VINTON:   Charles "Jr." Linsey, age 86, died Tuesday, October 17, 1919 at Mercy Medical Center if Cedar Rapids following an extended illness.
     Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, October 20, 2006 at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. 6th Street, in Vinton with Rev. David Gates officiating.  Interment will be held at Bear Creek Cemetery north-east of Vinton with Graveside Military Rites conducted by Geo. G. Luckey American Legion Post #57 of Vinton.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:30 to 8 PM on Thursday.  A Memorial Fund has been established.
     Charles was born November 19, 1919 at Vinton to Charles and Florence (Miller) Linsey.  During World War II he served his nation in the US Army.
     On December 22, 1946 he married Betty Geater at Vinton.  Prior to his retirement, Charles was employed as a punch press operator at Iowa Manufacturing for thirty-three years. 
     In his leisure he enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved his dogs and horses.
     Charles is survived by his wife Betty of Vinton, three sons, Craig (Dale Vorba) Linsey, Dennis (Dana) Linsey, and Steven Linsey, all of Vinton; and three grandchildren, Cheyenne Gonzales, Devanie Linsey and Bethany Linsey.
     His parents, his sister, Lucy Bridge and his brother, Leo Linsey preceded him in death.
