HIAWATHA: Donna Elaine Culver, 80 of died Sunday, May 28, 2006 at her home following a brief illness.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., June 1, 2006 at the Oak Grove Christian Church in Shellsburg with Pastor Larry Rodgers officiating. Interment will be in the Center Point Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM on Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 East Sixth Street in Vinton. A Memorial Fund has been established at the Oak Grove Christian Church.
Donna was born March 20, 1926 in Monroe, Iowa the daughter of Merle A. and Wanda Belle (Worth) Montgomery. She graduated from Monroe High School and the American Institute of Business in Des Moines. Donna was united in marriage to Ralph O. Vogel on November 14, 1947 in Des Moines. He preceded her in death in 1992. She worked as a Secretary for the Grundy County Farm Bureau for 20 years. Donna married Raymond Culver on January 18, 1992 in Nashua. Raymond preceded her in death on March 9, 2005.
In her leisure she enjoyed cooking, cross-stitching, dancing, fishing and reading. Donna also loved to visit with her family and friends.
Donna is survived by her three sons: Richard (Pauline) Vogel of Wellsburg, Ronald (Colleen) Vogel of Springville, Thomas (Janice) Vogel of Marion; one step-daughter, Cherryl (Charles) Ferguson of Center Point; seven grandchildren: Nathan (Lindsay) Vogel, Rochelle (Matt) Abbas and Jenny, Simon, Seth, Caleb and Noah Vogel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both her husbands and one brother, Marvin Montgomery.
