KEYSTONE: Duane Junge, age 77, of Dadeville, MO and formerly of Keystone, died Saturday, February 17, 2007 at the VA Medical Center in Fayetteville, AR following an extended illness
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM, Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Keystone. Interment will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Blairstown with Graveside Military Rites conducted by Merkel-Bockholt American Legion Post #107 of Keystone. Friends may register from noon until service time on Wednesday. A memorial fund has been established for the Diabetes and Cancer Societies.
Duane was born January 4, 1930 at Keystone to Eldo and Edna (Pohlman) Junge and graduated from the Keystone High School in 1948. During the Korean Conflict he served his nation in the US Navy from 1950-1954. He was a Life Member of the VFW.
On December 29, 1954 he married Irene Shatto at Newhall, Iowa. Duane farmed until his retirement and the couple has lived in Arkansas for several years. He was a member of the Aldrich Methodist Church and he loved to fish, golf and bow hunt.
In addition to his wife, Irene of Dadeville, MO, he is survived by his children, Karen (Robert) Zamzow of Hoffman Estate, IL, Mike (Nancy) Junge of Wasilla, Alaska, Carol (Donald) Bryant of Hazlehurst, GA, and Carla (Randy) Schroeder of North Freedom, WI; nine grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; five great grandchildren; eight step-great grandchildren; his sister, LaVonne (Darrell) Krafka, of Elberon; and his aunt, Darlene Foley of Traer.
His parents and brother, LaVerne preceded him in death.
