URBANA:  Darlene Rinderknecht, 94, died Sunday, July 19, 2009 at the Vinton Lutheran Home following an extended illness.
      Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, July 23, 20009, at the Urbana Christian Church with Rev. Tom Felts officiating.  Interment will be held at the Urbana Cemetery.  Friends may call at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. 6th St. in Vinton from 4 to 7 PM on Wednesday.   A Memorial Fund has been established for the Urbana Christian Church.
      Darlene was born June 10, 1915 at Shellsburg to Bird and Maggie (McCormick) Cue.  On March 22, 1932 she was united in marriage to Henry Rinderknecht at Rock Island, IL. The couple farmed and raised their family near Urbana..  Henry preceded his wife in death on April 24, 1999.
       A member of the Urbana Christian Church, Darlene is survived by her children, Earl (Esther) Rinderknecht of Urbana and Velma (Duane) Hungerholt of Lanesboro, MN; her grandchildren, Linda (Mark) Kelty, Cindy (Francisco) Lopez, Dee Ann (Jack) Liepa, Darrell Hungerholt, John (Jenifer) Hungerholt, and Martin (Melanie) Hungerholt; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
      In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Sherrie Lee Rinderknecht and two brothers, Willie and Orville Cue.
