VINTON:  Diane L. Nefzger, 52, died Sunday, December 20, 2009 at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton following an extended illness.

     Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM, Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. 6th St., in Vinton with Rev. Kären Larson officiating. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 AM until service time on Wednesday.  In lieu of flowers a Memorial Fund has been established.

     Diane was born November 19, 1957 at Iowa City to Leonard and Betty (Fossett) Tharp and graduated from Vinton's Washington High School in 1977.   On December 15, 1979 she married Dennis Nefzger in Vinton.

     Diane served as a CNA at Virginia Gay Annex and enjoyed attending Auto Races.

     She is survived by her husband, Dennis of Vinton; her son, Kristopher Nefzger  and Fiancee, Alaina Edgerly of Vinton; her grandchildren, Kristian, Scott, Austin and Teegan Nefzger; her brothers, Kenneth (Henrietta) Tharp, and Bruce (Jill) Tharp all of Vinton, and Dale (Theresa) Tharp of Harrisburg, PA; her sisters, Joyce (Kenneth) Dufresne, Janice (Lexton) Bray, and Linda Tharp, all of Vinton; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, David, Kyle and Leonard, Jr.; and her sister, Judy Hatfield.
