URBANA:  Eva Wayson Cook, age 96, died Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at Virginia Gay Annex in Vinton of natural causes.
    Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM, Monday, August 7, 2006 at the Urbana Christian Church with Rev. Roberta Maltas and Rev. Tom Felts officiating.  Interment will be held at the Urbana Cemetery.  Friends may call at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. 6th St., Vinton, from 4 to 7 PM on Sunday.
     Eva was born April 30, 1910 near Urbana to Clifford O. and Susanne "Nancy" (Ferguson) Wayson.  She graduated from Urbana High School in 1928.  She married Ralph L. Cook October 10, 1928 in Marion, Iowa. 
     Eva and Ralph worked at a Dairy in Kendal, Florida for two years.  The couple then returned to Waterloo, Iowa where their children were born.  In 1945 Eva and Ralph moved to a farm near Urbana.  After Ralph's death in 1969, Eva moved back to Waterloo where she was Resident Director for Allen Hospital School of Nursing until her retirement in 1981.  Eva moved to Center Point in 1990 and lived there until 2001 when she became a resident of Virginia Gay Annex in Vinton.  While living in Urbana and Waterloo, Eva was an active member of the Urbana Christian Church., serving with the CWF.  Eva enjoyed fellowship with the Urbana Senior Citizens, the Urbana Birthday Club and worked at Younkers Dept. Store in Cedar Rapids for five years.
     Eva is survived by her children, Velda J. Maltas, Sarasota, FL and Jerry (Marcia) Cook, Urbana; her grandchildren, Mark Cook, Glenwood, Matt Cook, Cedar Rapids, James Cook, Cedar Rapids, John "BJ" Cook, Urbana, Judy Maltas, San Antonio, TX, Jean (Maltas) Oberheu, San Antonio, TX, and Rev. Roberta Maltas, Houston, TX; great-grandchildren, Lindsey Cook, Norway, Zach Cook, Cedar Rapids, Kelli and Mitchell Oberheu, San Antonio, TX, Tara Maltas, Houston, TX; and countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
      She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Claude,  Clarke , and Leonard Wayson; her husband, Ralph; an infant daughter, Carol Sue Cook;  and her son-in-law, Robert Maltas.
