CEDAR RAPIDS:  Elsie F. Evens, age 58, died Monday, December 25, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids following an extended illness.
     Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. 6th St, in Vinton with Rev. David Gates officiating.  Interment will be held at the Urbana Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 AM until service time on Wednesday.  A Memorial Fund has been established.
     Elsie was born September 28, 1948 at Rock Valley to Russell H. and Jennie (Smit) Miller and graduated from Rock Valley high School in 1967.  On July 18, 2970 she married Gene Evens at Rock Valley.
     Elsie was employed at Amana for twenty-five years and retired in 2004.
     She is survived by her husband, Gene Evens, Sr. of Cedar Rapids; her sons, Gene (Jennifer) Evens, Jr. of Cedar Rapids and Heath (Heather) Evens of Independence; her daughter, Twila Evens and companion, Van Bagley of Center Point; eight grand-children; her brother, Russell (Diana) Miller of Canton, SD; and her sister, Kathy (Willis) DenBoer of Sioux Falls, SD.
     She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Pete, Harvey and Wayne Miller and her sister-in-law, Diane Miller.
