BLAIRSTOWN:  Eleanor R. Luse Hagen, age 82, died Thursday, Mary 15, 2008 at her residence following a sudden illness.
     Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, May 19, 2008 at Grace Lutheran Church in Blairstown with Rev. David Rempfer officiating.  Interment will be held at the Shiloh Cemetery in Hiawatha at 1:30 PM on Monday.  Friends may call at Phillips Funeral Home in Blairstown from 2 to 5 PM on Sunday.  A Memorial Fund has been established.
     Eleanor was born May 20, 1925 at Cedar Rapids to Clark and Mabel (Field) Luse and graduated from Franklin High School in Cedar Rapids.  For twenty-five years she was employed by the offices of Iowa Electric.  For many years she served as a volunteer at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
     On November 22, 1986 she married Merlin A. Hagen at Cedar Rapids and the couple made their home in Blairstown where Eleanor became a member of Grace Lutheran Church.  Merlin preceded her in death on May 16, 2002.
     Eleanor is survived by her step-daughters, Marilyn (Larry) Pohlman of Cedar Rapids, and Nancy (Eddie) Landuyt of Belle Plaine; six step-grandchildren, Brian, Bradley and Aaron Pohlman and Amanda, Stephanie and Evonne Landuyt; three step-great-granddaughters, Jocelyn Nelson and Lillian and Sophia Pohlman; her brothers, Dick Luse of Coggon, and David (Gale) Luse of Cedar Rapids; her sisters-in-law, Margaret Luse of Minneapolis, MN, Deloris Luse of Cedar Rapids, and Jeanne Luse of Belvidere, Il; and many nieces and nephews.
     In addition to her parents and husband, Merlin, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John, Ed, and Howard Luse, and her sisters, Margaret, Marjorie, and Marian Luse.
