VINTON:  Ernst P. Seboldt, 89, died Sunday, June 8, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids following an extended illness.
     Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Garrison with Rev. Mark Leckband officiating.  Interment will be held at St. John Cemetery in Newhall.  Friends may call at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. 6th St. in Vinton, from 4 to 7 PM on Tuesday.  A Memorial Fund has been established for the Vinton Lutheran Home and St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Garrison.
     Ernst was born November 25, 1918 at Willow Spring, MO to Henry and Anna (Kaestner) Seboldt.  On February 16, 1941 he married Marcella Wieditz at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vinton.  She preceded him in death on May 15, 2004.
     Ernst farmed in the Keystone area until his retirement in 1984 and had been a resident of Assisted Living at the Vinton Lutheran Home the past four years    He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Garrison.
     He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Albert and Leone Seboldt of Van Horne and his sister-in-law, Patsy Seboldt of Indianapolis, IN  Ernst was a special uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.
