MASON CITY:  Floy Ann Messmore, age 87, formerly of Vinton, died Thursday, November 29, 2007 at the Muse-Norris Hospice In-Patient Unit in Mason City. 
     Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM, Monday, December 3, 2007 at Stewart Memorial United Methodist Church in Vinton with Rev. Ron Stein officiating.  Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton.  Friends may call at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. 6th St, in Vinton from 4 to 6 PM on Sunday.  A memorial fund has been established.
     Floy was born January 30, 1920 at Stet, MO to Clay and Eula (Walker) Herring and graduated from the Dorborne, Mo High School.  On February 6, 1942 she married Loren Messmore at Kansas City, MO.  The couple lived in Vinton from 1950 to 1956 and after residing in Osceola, Creston and Kansas City, Mo they returned to Vinton in 1980.  Loren preceded his wife in death on December 9, 1994.  For the past twelve years Floy has resided in Mason City.
     Floy had been a clerical employee of Creston Motor Co., South West Community College and Kellogg Cereal  Co..  She was a proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #57 of Vinton.
     Floy is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Dolores, Steve and Sara, and Greg and Linda, all of Mason City; five grandchildren, Haley, Mindy, and Meghann Messmore, Krista Johnson, and Marcy Harder; four great grandchildren, Emma Mutch, Emma Kitzman, Grace Johnson, and Breanna Messmore.
     In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by grandson, Andrew James Messmore; her sister, Noreen and her brothers, Homer and Glenn Herring.
