VAN HORNE: Gary Bossler, age 64, died Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at his residence following a brief illness.
     A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM, Monday, April 9, 2007 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Van Horne with Father Keith L. Birch as Celebrant.  Interment will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Fairfax with Graveside Military Rites conducted by Thomas F. Bevins American Legion Post #146 of Van Horne.  Friends may register from 9 AM until service time at the church on Monday.  A Memorial Fund has been established.  Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone is in charge of arrangements.
     Gary was born September 6, 1942 at Cedar Rapids to Loren J. and Lola (Junge) Bossler and graduated from the Van Horne High School in 1961.  He served his nation in the National Guard.
     On June 1, 1965 he married Kathleen Stallman at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Van Horne and the couple resided on the family farm near Van Horne.  Gary was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Thomas F. Bevins American Legion Post #146 of Van Horne.  Gary enjoyed golfing and collecting John Deere Toy Tractors.  His greatest joy in life came from his role as a "grandpa".
     He is survived by his wife, Kathleen of Van Horne; his son, Troy (Meredith) Bossler of Oswego, IL; his mother, Lola Bossler of Van Horne; his granddaughters, Ashley and Hannah Bossler; and his brother, Ron (Kathy) Bossler of Vinton.
     His father, Loren Bossler preceded him in death on February 14, 2000.
