BLAIRSTOWN:  Harold D. Doud, 97, died Thursday, September 11, 2008 at Northbrook Manor Care Center in Cedar Rapids following an extended illness.
     Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM, Monday, September 15, 2008 at Calvary United Methodist Church in Blairstown with Rev. Jena Manchester officiating.  Interment will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Blairstown.  Friends may call at Phillips Funeral Home in Blairstown from 4 to 7 PM on Sunday.  A Memorial Fund has been established.
     Harold was born May 30, 1911 at Hedrick to Charles Henry and Carrie Eva (Denny) Doud.  On September 28, 1938 he married Pauline E. Pearson at Van Horne.  Pauline preceded him in death in 1999.
     Harold farmed until his retirement and then he worked at the Fischer's Blairstown Feed Mill, drove a Farm Service.Gas Truck for ten years and sharpened saws   He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Blairstown where he served on the Board of Trustees, the Blairstown Lions Club and was a former member of the Blairstown Consolidated School Board.  Harold was an avid Hawkeye sports fan and he loved baseball games and stock car races.  His greatest pleasure came from spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
     He is survived by his daughters, Charlotte McCaw of Cedar Rapids, and Vicki (Duffy) Gustafson of Des Moines; his grandchildren, Craig, (Julie) McCaw, Kevin (Debbie) McCaw, and Carla (Rocky) Damiano; and his greatgrandchildren, Kristen, Nick, Chelsea, Jennifer, and Justin McCaw, and Gabrielle and Jaden Damiano.
     In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Sanford, Glen, Earl, Keith and James Doud.
