BLOOMFIELD:  Harlan "Ike" Hulme, age 72, and formerly of Traer, died May 27, 2008 at Davis Center Residential Care in Bloomfield following an extended illness.
     A Celebration Of Life will be held from 1 to 3 PM on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at the home of his daughter, Deb Hanneman - 1903 S. 1st Ave- Vinton, Iowa.
.     Harlan was born March 13, 1936 at Traer to Dale William and LaVonn E. (Lage) Hulme and graduated from the Dinsdale High School.  Harlan was an excellent baseball player and was a member of the Traer Town Team.  He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Prior to his illness he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
     He is survived by his daughter, Deb Hanneman of Vinton; his son, Rich (Helen) Hulme of Katy, TX; his grandchildren, Megan (Greg) Hupke of Walford, Melissa (Bill) Zenk of Cedar Rapids, Kimberly Hanneman of Vinton; Cate, Olivia and Bradley Hulme of Richardson, TX, and Bryan and Sophia Hulme of Katy, TX; his sister, Vivian (John) Claussen of Hudson; his brothers, Harold (Twyla) Hulme of Unionville, and Ronald "Fritz" Hulme of Traer; and several nieces and nephews.
     Harlan was preceded in death by his parents and his sister-in-law, Patricia Hulme.
     Phillips Funeral Home in Vinton is assisting Harlan's family.
