KEYSTONE:  Iris Oehlerich, 83, concluded her long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease on Thursday, March 5, 2009.  She has joined her victorious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in the heavenly mansion He prepared for her. 
     Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, March 9, 2009 at St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone with Rev. Dr. James Eggert officiating.  Interment will be held at the Keystone Cemetery.  Friends may call at Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone from 5 to 7 PM on Sunday.  A memorial fund has been established for St. John Lutheran Church and the Alzheimer's Association.
      Iris is survived by two sons, Richard (Cindy) of Keystone and Dwight (Krista) of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren, Jeremiah (Kendra), Joseph (Emily) Jonathan, Joanna, Joelah, Alexis and Keegan.
       She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; and her sister, Winnie.
        Iris was born December 13, 1925 in Walsall, England to William and Sarah Potts.  She emigrated to the United States in 1946 to marry her husband, Bill.  Iris served as secretary and organist for St. John Lutheran church in Keystone for over forty years.  She was a longtime member of the church, participating in many of its organizations including Friendship Club, Home Mission Society, Dorcas Guild, Pairs and Spares, and as a member and officer of Lutheran Brotherhood/AAL/Thrivent Branch. She was also a Sunday School and VBS teacher and an accompanist for Junior and Senior Choirs.  She taught piano lessons in her home and was a member of the Keystone Ladies Literary Club and Key Ladies.  Iris volunteered at the Keystone Elementary School and the Keystone Care Center.  She enjoyed her family, especially each of her grandchildren.  She derived great pleasure from her many friends, growing flowers, reading, and knitting. Her service to her Lord, her church, and her community has touched many lives.
