NEWHALL:  Jean M. Williams, 88, died Tuesday, November 3, 2009  at Heritage Nursing & Rehabilitation in Cedar Rapids following extended illness.

     Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, November 6, 2009 at St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall with Rev. Steven Rempfer officiating.  Interment will be held at St. Stephen's Lutheran Cemetery near Atkins.   Visitation will also be held at the church from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday.   A Memorial Fund has been established.

     Jean was born December 13, 1920 at Stone City to Lee and Loretto (Foarde) Kell. 

     On February 27, 1943 she was united in marriage to Raymond Williams at Atkins.

     Jean was a member of St. John Lutheran Church where she enjoyed fellowship in the Tabitha Society, Lamplighters and Leisure Club.  She enjoyed playing cards, knitting, and quilting.

     She is survived by her husband, Raymond of Newhall; her daughters, Ruth (Larry) Shannon of Hiawatha, and Kay Williams of Dumfries, VA; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

     She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Fair; three brothers; and one sister.
