SHELLSBURG:  Kathleen K. Seaton, 61,  passed away on December 6th after a long courageous battle with cancer.  She died at home surrounded by close family and her two miniature dachshunds.

     A Public Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at First Presbyterian Church of Shellsburg from 4 to 7 PM. A Private Family Ceremony will be held on Thursday. 

      Kathleen was born in Cedar Rapids on January 9, 1948 to Ivan and Hazel (Shuart) Pattison, and spent her life in the Shellsburg area.  She worked for 34 years at Amana Refrigeration and was a member of the Aerospace Machinists Union #1526.  In her spare time she loved to travel, work in her yard, and spend time with her  grandchildren. 

     Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents.  She is survived by her husband, Paul F. Seaton of Shellsburg; three children, Paul (Jerilyn) Seaton and their children, Jacob, Aaron and Kody of Shellsburg, Denise (Jody) Seaton Erwin and their children, Brady and Avery of Denver, CO, Paula (Rick) Seaton Valerio, and their children, Katlyn, Hannah and Emily of Mullen, ID; two brothers, Robert Pattison and Ronny Pattison; and her cousin, Betty June.

     The family would welcome flowers, which were a passion of Kathy's, but donation to the American Cancer Society, are welcome as well.

     The family would also like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Thomas Carlysle who helped Kathy beat the odds and maintain a good quality of life for so long.
