CEDAR RAPIDS: Kay Irwin Snow, 74, died Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids following an extended illness. Funeral Services will be held at 5 p.m., Sunday, July 17, 2011 at River Of Life Church in Cedar Rapids with Pastors Steve Irwin and Brian Fink officiating. Her family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until service time at the church on Sunday. Public Committal Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday the 18th at the Garrison Cemetery in Garrison, Iowa. Phillips Funeral Home in Vinton is in charge of arrangements. Kay was born October 3, 1936 in Garrison to Byron and Virginia (Henkle) Irwin and graduated from the Garrison High School in 1954. On March 4, 1956 she was united in marriage to John "Jack" Snow in Garrison. He preceded her in death on May 11th of this year. Kay devoted her life to her Lord, to her family, and to the church. She served on the mission field with Calvary Commission, led bible studies and was a spiritual mentor to many people. She was also a loving Foster Mother to many children during her life. She is survived by her daughter, Melody Snow Iverson of Cedar Rapids; her grandchildren, Hannah, Shelby, Hunter and Tanner; her great grandson, Nathan; her brother, Gary (Marilyn) Irwin of Forest Lake MN; and her sister, Sharon (Phillip) Diaz of Westminster, CO; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Bryant in 1993. |
