URBANA:  Mildred M. Williams, 94, died Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at her residence following a sudden illness.
     Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, January 31, 2009 at the United Methodist Church in Urbana with Rev. Leo and Rev. Sheri Andersen officiating.  Interment will be held at the Urbana Cemetery.  Friends may call at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. 6th St. in Vinton from 4 to 7 PM on Friday. 
      Mildred was born October 20, 1914 at Brandon to Albert and Minnie Gates and graduated from the Brandon High.  She later attended Iowa State Teacher's College in Cedar Falls.  She taught in country schools, the Brandon School System and served as Librarian at Urbana.
       On October 12, 1935 she married Marshall G. Williams at Kahoka, MO.   The couple farmed in the Urbana area.  Marshall preceded her in death on May 17, 1989.
       Mildred played the Organ at the Methodist Churches in Brandon and Urbana for over 50 years.   She loved gardening and flowers.
        She is survived by her son Duane Williams of Urbana and her granddaughter, Linsey Williams of Cedar Rapids.
         She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Marshall.
