VAN HORNE--Margaret "Maggie" Barron, 83 died Tuesday, February 27, 2007 in the Keystone Care Center following a short illness.  A Funeral Mass will be held at  10:30 AM Saturday, March 3, 2007 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Van Horne with Father Keith L.Birch as Celebrant.  Interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery,near Keystone. Friends may call from 4-7 PM Friday at Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone where a  Vigil Service will begin at 7 PM.

Margaret was born April 3, 1923 in Coggon, IA, the daughter of Charles and Olive (Reilly) Holub.  She married Leland John Barron on February 22, 1945 in Dubuque, IA. Margaret worked with her husband at Barron's Café and was employed many years with the Dept. of Agriculture.

Survivors include five children. Steve of Marshalltown, Greg of Marengo, Marcia (Charlie) Wauters of Keystone, Mike (Mary) of Marion and Therese (Jay) Fisher of Blairstown; 10 grandchildren, Dena (Scott) Duffy, Danielle Barron, Denise (Kevin) Rawson, Lee Barron, Chad (Jodi) Wauters, Nicole Rhea, Amanda Barron, Christina Barron & fiancé Nicholas Georgiou, Reilly Fisher and Rebecca Fisher; 11 great-grandchildren, a sister, Charlene (Kenneth) Gove of Oak Island, NC, many nieces and nephews and her dear friend, Lola Bossler of Van Horne.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leland in 1973, and her parents.

Margaret was an active member of IC Church, the Legion Auxiliary, the Benton Co. Democratic Party, and Trees Forever. She loved her grandchildren very much and especially enjoyed being involved in their many activities.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Keystone Care Center for the wonderful care and concern shown to Maggie during her stay with them.
