YUKON, OKLAHOMA – Mary Ellen Brown, age 83, died Monday, July 21, 2008 at Ranchwood Nursing Center in Yukon, Oklahoma following an extended illness.
     Graveside Services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, July 26, 2008 at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton. 
      Mary was born March 14, 1925 in Blakesburg, IA to Frank and Bernice (Davin) Johnson.  Mary received her Bachelors Degree in Chemistry from the Texas State College for Women.  She had a long career as a chemist for McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft Company where she worked from 1957 to 1987 until her retirement.  She was an avid golfer and a member of the Methodist Church.    
     She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Joyce Bulfer and husband Donald of St. Louis Park, MN; her son, Michael Adrian Brown and wife Sherry of El Reno, OK; her sister, Kathryn Smith of Dallas, TX; her grandchildren, Daniel Adrian Brown and wife Sarah of Bartlesville, OK, Stephen Michael Bulfer and wife Kalyani of San Francisco, CA, David Clifton Brown and wife Eva of Anadarko, OK, Sheila Ann Mena and husband Jose of Minneapois, MN and Michelle Jeannine Romberg and husband Eric of Edmond, OK; great-grandchildren, Logan Brown, Emery Brown, Anna Brown, Sachin Bulfer and Marcelo Mena.
     She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Gordon Johnson.
     Phillips Funeral Home, Vinton is in charge of arrangements.
