NEWHALL:  Mary Lou Grovert, age 79, died Friday, February 9, 2007 at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo following an extended illness.
     Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM, Monday, February 12, 2007 at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. 6th St. in Vinton with Rev. Steven Rempfer officiating.  Interment will be held at St. John Cemetery in Newhall.  Friends may register from noon until service time on Monday.  A Memorial Fund has been established.
     Mary Lou was born November 17, 1927 at Cedar Rapids to Herald and Florence (Young) Grovert.  Since 1998 she has been a resident of Country View Nursing Home in Waterloo.
     She is survived by her brother, Richard Grovert of Newhall; her nieces, Cathy Kilwaee and Jane Hagen; her nephew, Bob (Stephanie) Grovert; eight great nieces and nephews; and her aunts, Della McConnaughey of Yuma, Arizona, and Geraldine (Heinie) Garbers of Van Horne.
     Preceding her in death were her parents and her great niece, Jennifer Hagen.
