VINTON: Maxine M. Kotouc, age 83, died Monday, October 15, 2007 at Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehab following an extended illness.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, October 20, 1007 at Phillips Family Center, 605 2nd Ave, in Vinton with Rev. David Gates officiating. Interment will be held at the Dysart Cemetery. Friends may call at the Family Center from 6 to 8 PM on Friday. A Memorial Fund has been established for Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehab. Maxine was born August 28, 1924 in Bruce Township near Mt. Auburn to Henry and Mamie (Bushnell) Bunz who preceded her in death. She graduated from LaPorte City High School in 1942. On January 7, 1944 she married George Kotouc at Stewart Memorial Methodist Church in Vinton. The couple farmed east of Vinton and retired in 1975. George preceded her in death in 1997. Maxine had also been employed at Vinton Popcorn and had been a long time member of the Assembly Of God Church in Vinton. She enjoyed working with her husband on the farm, gardening and entertaining family and friends. She also loved to play cards. She is survived by her children, Ralph (Linda) Kotouc of Pea Ridge, AR, John (Ida) Kotouc of Mountain Home, AR, Jody (Annette) Kotouc of Toledo, and Anna (Al) Siemering of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; her brother, Edward (Sonja) Bunz of Waterloo, and her sister, Mary Ellen (Harold) Becker of Phoenix, AR.
