VINTON Margaret Ann Stumpff, age 76 of Vinton and formerly of Norway died Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids following a sudden illness. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, June 2, 2007 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. David Ambrosy officiating. Interment will be in St. Michaels Cemetery, Norway. Friends may call from 5 to 8 P.M., Friday at the Phillips Family Center, 605 Second Avenue, with a prayer service held at 7:30 P.M. A memorial fund has been established.
Margaret was born August 22, 1930 to Cecil and Luella (Stallman) Frimml in Norway. She was raised in the Norway area and graduated from Norway High School. On May 5, 1953 Margaret was united in marriage to Richard Stumpff at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Norway.
Margaret worked at Rockwell Collins for 26 years retiring December of 1991. In 2003 the couple moved to Vinton. Margaret was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters.
In addition to her husband, Margaret is survived by her children: Kathy (Dave) Wessling of Vinton, Karen (Leo) Niffenegger of Marion, Amy (Gregory) Pohlen of St. Charles, MO; her seven grandchildren, Rachelle (Stuart) Wessling Haker of Marion, Erin (Tony) Wessling Barnett of St. Louis, MO, Tiffany (Wes) Niffenegger Carpenter, Ashley Niffenegger all of Marion, Alexandra, Emily and Pete Pohlen all of St. Charles, MO; and her five great grandchildren, Madison Mann, Dylan and Chloe Carpenter, Lexi Niffenegger and Clara Haker. She is also survived by her sisters: Mary Disterhoft of Marengo, Jane (Bill) Dietrich of Victor, Luann (John) Lutkenhaus of Cedar Rapids, Marcia (Don) Bonham of Middletown, OH and Sandy (Bob) Mantz of Raton, NM; her brothers, John Frimml of Belle Plaine, Robert (Marlys) Frimml of Newhall, Bill and Richard (Dee) Frimml both of Belle Plaine and David Frimml of Cedar Rapids.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents.
Margaret was loved dearly by her family and friends and will be missed greatly by all who knew her.
