VINTON:  Opal M. Achenbach, age 93, of Oklahoma City, OK, formerly of Vinton, died Monday, March 31, 2008 at the Integris South West Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 5, 2008 at Phillips Family Center in Vinton.  Interment will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Shellsburg.  Friends may call at the Family Center from 11 to 1 PM on Saturday.
     Opal was born November 25, 1914 at Cedar Rapids to Ralph and Laura (Clark) Averill.  She graduated from McKinley High School in Cedar Rapids.  On August 4, 1931 she married Lloyd J. Achenbach at Rock Island, IL.  Opal enjoyed gardening but her greatest joy in life was her family.
     She is survived by her daughter, JoAnn (Ken) Willits of Oklahoma City, OK; her eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and her sister, Helen Lutz of Cedar Rapids.
     She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two daughters, Linda Northland and Judy Achenbach; two brothers, Earl and Bill DeNio and one sister, Bernice Strait.
