VINTON:  Patrick Andrew Gill, age 65, died Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Iowa City following a sudden illness.
     Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, November 15, 2008 at Trinity Lutheran church in Vinton with Rev. Clarke E. Frederick officiating.  Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton, with Graveside Military Rites conducted by Geo. G. Luckey American Legion Post #57 of Vinton. Friends may call from 4 to 7 PM, Friday at Phillips Family Center, 605 2nd Ave, in Vinton.
     Patrick was born December 16, 1942 in Chicago, IL to Patrick and Wanda (Nielsen) Gill.  He served his nation in the US Marine Corp from 1961 to 1964 where he earned the rank of Corporal.
     On April 4, 1970 he married Connie Gordon in Vinton.  Patrick was a Plumber and a member of the Plumbers Union Locals 125 & 130.  He was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Geo. G. Luckey American Legion Post #57 of Vinton, and Vinton Country Club.
     He is survived by his wife, Connie of Vinton; his son James Patrick Gill and friend, Sarah Pohlmann; and his grandson, Payton Howard Gill, all of Vinton; his twin sister, Mary Gibbons, his sister, Kitty Gill (Steven Froikin); his brothers, Michael (Evie) Gill, Terence (Angela) Gill, John (Cindy) Gill, and Tim (Angie) Gill; his mother-in-law, Dora Jean Gordon; his in-laws, Nancy (Dean) Good, Rick (Lonna) Gordon, Margot (Roger) Nowicke. and Dwyn (Shawn) Thudium; and many nieces and nephews.
     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Tessie Kane; a special Aunt, Kirstine "Teen" Nielsen; his father-in-law, Jim Gordon and his brother-in-law, Scott Gordon.
