NEWHALL:  Patricia A.Glime Sheldon, age 72, of Lakeville, MN, and formerly of Newhall, died Friday, April 17, 2009 at Edina, Minnesota following an extended illness.
            Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. 6th St. in Vinton. Interment will be held at Urbana Cemetery, in Urbana.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5 to 8 PM on Tuesday. A memorial fund has been established.
Patricia was born November 17, 1936 to Fay O. and Mildred (Scott) Glime in Cheney, Iowa, near Urbana.  She attended school in Van Horne and graduated from Van Horne High School in 1954.  Following graduation she attended Iowa State Teachers College and received teaching degrees in 1956 and 1965.  Patricia taught elementary education in several area communities including, Montour, Olin, Newhall, Keystone and Cedar Rapids. 
She married Richard Sheldon on June 10, 1967 in Newhall.  Richard was a 1953 graduate of Lamont High School.  Patricia loved to travel, and spend time caring for the flowers in her garden.  She also had a great passion for genealogy and spent over 40 years researching her family's genealogy.  Following the completion of this research, Patricia self-published a book of genealogy on the Sheldon and Glime families.  Patricia was very proud of being recognized as a member of the Daughter's of the American Revolution. With her many activities Patricia most enjoyed spending time with her family. 
Patricia is survived by her husband Richard of Lakeville, MN; her two sons, Steven and wife Tanya Sheldon of Eden Prairie, MN who are expecting Patricia's third grandchild, Neil and wife Amy Sheldon of Fond Du Lac, WI and their children Amanda and Nathan; her brothers, Ronald Glime and wife Karrol of Johnson City, TN, Duane Glime and wife Kathy of Newhall, Russell D. Glime and wife Barbara of Vinton; sister-in-law, Rosalie Glime of Van Horne; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth Sheldon and wife Carol of Ottumwa, Elaine Akerly of Marion and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert W. Glime.
