VINTON:  Phyllis Jean Koopman, 77, died Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at the Anamosa Care Center in Anamosa following an extended illness.
      Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. 6th St in Vinton with Rev. Mark C. Urlaub officiating.  Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 AM until service time on Saturday.  A Memorial Fund has been established.
      Phyllis was born April 1, 1931 at Cedar Rapids to James O. and Voila (Prior) McArtor and graduated from Wilson High School in Cedar Rapids in 1949.
       On October 7, 1951 she was united in marriage to Stanley Koopman at Zion Lutheran Church in Shellsburg.  Stanley preceded her in death on February 5, 2001.
        Phyllis and Stanley lived in Alta, Iowa for 33 years while she was employed at Becker Manufacturing as a bookkeeper and at Buena Vista Stationery in Storm Lake.  She had enjoyed bowling and sang with the Sweet Adelines in Storm Lake. The couple moved to Vinton in 1994 and for the past eleven and a half years, Phyllis has been a resident to the Anamosa Care Center.
         .Phyllis is survived by her daughters, Sandra Salviati of Marion, and Karen (Robert) Schulte of Garwin; her son Dale Koopman of New London; her grandchildren, Paul, Jennifer and Jessica Salviati, and Bret Schulte; and four great grandchildren.
        In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded by her step-father, Dale Lines.
