ATKINS - Ronald Alan Deklotz, 52, of Ashland, WI, formerly of Atkins, died Thursday, May 10, 2007 at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth, MN following a sudden illness. Friends may call at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Atkins from 4 to 7 PM on Friday, May 25, 2007. A Committal Service will follow the visitation with interment of cremains at St. Stephen's Cemetery near Atkins with Rev. Douglas Woltemath officiating.
Ron was born November 27, 1954 in Cedar Rapids to Wayne and Marie (Gerhold) Deklotz. He graduated from Benton Community High School in Van Horne, in 1973, and received a degree in Industrial Engineering from Iowa State University in 1977. He later received a Masters Degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Wisconsin. From 1977 to 1999 he worked as a plant engineer in the paper industry in Appleton, WI, Eugene, OR, and Ashland, WI. Following the closing of the plant in Ashland in 1999, Ron worked as a Community College instructor, realtor, a consultant, and a company representative. He enjoyed his lakeside home, collecting vintage wines, NASCAR racing, the Green Bay Packers, and cooking. He also enjoyed spending time with his many friends. Ron is survived by two brothers, Mike (Pat) and Doug (Sharon) Deklotz, all of Atkins, a niece, Jennifer (Joe) Eason of Pennington, NJ, and a nephew, Daniel Deklotz of Atkins. His parents preceded him in death. Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice. Phillips Funeral Home in Vinton is in charge of arrangements. |
