VINTON: Robert L. “Bob” Primmer, age 83, died Monday, April 24, 2006 at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics following a brief illness. Funeral Services will be held 1:30 PM, Thursday, April 27, 2006 at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 East 6th Street in Vinton with Rev. David Gates officiating. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton. Friends may call the funeral home from noon until service time on Thursday. Bob is survived by his sisters, Evelyn Primmer of Vinton, Kathleen ( Everett) Smith of Waterloo, Jean (Wendell) Larson of Roseville, IL, Mary Ellen Primmer of Vinton, Linda (Paul) Yulga of Pleasant Valley, and twelve nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Charles. Bob was born December 13, 1922 in Vinton to Chauncey and Clara (Stoller) Primmer. He attended school in Vinton and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1941, and later served honorably in the United States Navy during World War II. Bob worked as an inspector for Rockwell Collins for 30 years retiring in 1982. He loved trees and enjoyed woodworking in his spare time. |
