BLAIRSTOWN - Robert "Bob" Schulze, age 81, died Monday, August 13, 2007 at Colonial Manor of Amana following an extended illness.
      Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, August 16, 2007 at Phillips Funeral Home in Blairstown with Rev. Jena Manchester officiating.  Interment will be held at the Salem Cemetery in Van Horne with Graveside Military Rites conducted by the M.J. Kirby American Legion Post #170 of Blairstown.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 7 PM on Wednesday.  A Memorial Fund has been established.
     Bob was born November 12, 1925 at Cedar Rapids to Frank and Emma (Bahr) Schulze and attended school in Cedar Rapids.  Bob enlisted in the US Amy and served his nation from 1944 to 1946 and was stationed in France and Germany during World War II.  After his discharge from the military, Bob was employed as a farm chemical salesman for Standard Oil and Farmers 4 County Co-op.  Later in life he was employed at Iowa National Insurance Company and he retired in 1985.  He was a member of the Blairstown M. J. Kirby American Legion Post #170 for over 60 years. 
     He is survived by his sons, Richard (Susan) Schulze and Bret (Pam) Schulze all of Blairstown; his granddaughter, Sonnet Schulze and his grandson, Brennan Schulze.
      In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Schulze, his sister, Irene Wallace, and his granddaughter, Wendy Jo Schulze.
