KEYSTONE: Ronald L. Walters, age 56, died Saturday, April 29, 2006 at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics following a sudden illness. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at St. John Lutheran Church with Rev. Doctor James Eggert officiating. Interment will be held at the Keystone Cemetery. Friends may call at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Keystone form 4 to 8 P.M. on Tuesday. A Memorial Fund has been established. Ronald was born August 21, 1949 at Cedar Rapids to Kenneth and Maxine (Witt) Walters and graduated from Benton Community High School in 1968. On May 12, 1972 he married Claudia Canfield at St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone. Ronald loved farming and he truly enjoyed his employment at John Deere Tractor Works in Waterloo the past thirty-one and one half years. His official retirement would have begun on April 30 th. In addition to his wife, Claudia, he is survived by his mother, Maxine Walters of Keystone; his sons, Keenan (Terri) Walters of Dysart, and Kurt (Nina) Walters of Cedar Falls; his grandchildren, Ashley, Karis, Elijah, and Gavin Walters; and his sisters, Sharon (Bill) Beck of Newhall, and Bev (Dave) Thompson of Battle Lake, MN. His father Kenneth Walters preceded him in death in 1999.
