BLAIRSTOWN: Rachael Norene Kimm, age 92, died Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at the Keystone Nursing Care Center in Keystone following an extended illness.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, September 12, 2008 at the Calvary United Methodist Church of Blairstown with Rev. Jena Manchester officiating. Interment will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Blairstown. A Memorial Visitation will be held at Phillips Funeral Home in Blairstown from 5 to 7 PM on Thursday. A Memorial fund has been established.
Rachael was born August 18, 1916 in Iowa County near Marengo, to Jake and Nora (Mitchell) Kinzenbaw and graduated from Blairstown Consolidated Schools in 1934. On April 25, 1939 she married Ross Kimm at the Methodist Parsonage in Blairstown. The couple farmed for forty years and after retirement they became "Snowbirds" and wintered in Harlingen, TX for twenty-six years. Ross preceded his wife in death on October 28, 2007.
Rachael was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church and had served as a Cub Scout Leader. She was a devoted mother and housewife and will be missed by her family.
She is survived by her son, Danny and wife, Marcia of Blairstown; her grandchildren, Mark (Suzanne) Kimm of Lititz, PA, Kevin (Amy) Kimm of Chaska, MN, Jay (Mindy) Kimm of Floyds Knobs, IN; and Deanna (Jeremy) Kulbartz of Blairstown; her great-grandchildren, Evan Hollinger and Logan Kimm of Lititz, PA, Ross, Whitney and Landon Kimm of Chaska, MN, Colton, Tyler and Caleb Kimm of Floyds Knobs, IN; and Kaitlyn and Ty Kulbartz of Blairstown.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Duaine and Ada Kinzenbaw.
