VINTON: Raymond L. Maile, 84, died Saturday, January 31, 2009 at his residence of a sudden illness. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. 6th St., in Vinton with Rev. Robert Lukenbill, III officiating. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton. Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 4 to 7 PM on Monday. A memorial Fund has been established. Raymond was born August 31, 1924 at Barron, WI to Charles LeRoy and Cynthia Blanche (Garnett) Maile. During World War II he served his nation in the US Navy as a Seaman 1st Class on a Destroyer. He was a member of Geo. G. Luckey American Legion Post #57 of Vinton. On May 23, 1947 he married Inez Hartwigsen at Peace Creek, KS. From 1964 to 1986 Raymond served as the Meat Manager at the Fareway Store in Vinton. He was a member of the Center Point Road Church of Christ and the Vinton Country Club. Raymond is survived by his wife, Inez of Vinton; his children, Rex (Cathy) Maile of Norway, Donna (Dennis) Thompson and, June (Wayne) McGowan, all of Vinton, and John (Janet) Maile, and Russ (Michelle) Maile all of Norman, OK; his grandchildren, Aric, Angie, Rachel, Laura, Brian, Jason, Gayle, Brad, Scott, Shawn, Shannon, Shelby, Madalyn, Rebecca and Rylan; eight great-grandchildren; his brother and sisters, Clyde Maile, Hazel Monthei, and Thelma Watters, all of Jefferson, and his sister, Wilma Rushing of Johnston; his sister-in-law, Ardith Maile of Ames and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Vernon and Paul and his sister, Eleanor Maile. |
