ATKINS:  Sondra Lee McLarty, 67, died Saturday, March 31, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids from complications of diabetes.
     Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Atkins with Rev. Douglas Woltemath officiating.  Interment will be held at St. Stephen's Cemetery near Atkins.  Visitation will also be held at the church from 4 to 7 PM on Tuesday.
     Sondra was born November 21, 1939 in Des Moines to Merle and Lily Boettcher Green.  She was baptized and confirmed at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church.  She attended St. Stephen's Parochial School and graduated from Atkins High School in 1958.
     Sondra was united in marriage to William Wayne McLarty on December 21, 1958 at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Atkins.
     Sondra was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary in Atkins.  Sondra loved her family, especially her granddaughters.  She enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles and baking.  In her earlier years she loved to bowl.
      Survivors include her husband, Wayne; her two daughters, Carla McLarty of Cedar Rapids and Cathy Arnold and husband Tim of Nipomo, CA; two granddaughters, Whitney Arnold of Tacoma, WA, and Gwendolynn Arnold of Nipomo, CA; her sister, Pamela Vierling and husband, Frank of Youngsville, NC; sisters-in-law, Faye Birky of Cedar Rapids, Avis Key of Kingsport, TN, Violet Davison of Sierra Vista, AZ, and Maxine McLarty of Arley, AL; her uncle and his wife, Loren and Jeanne Green of Des Moines; several cousins, nieces, nephews, and a special family friend, Don Bender.
     She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Ron Green; her brothers -in-law, Bill Birky, William Key, Bruce McLarty and Gene McLarty.
     The family would like to thank the staff at Mercy Medical Center, especially Andy, Brian, Dori and Melissa for the excellent care given to us.
      Memorials may be given to St. Stephen's Lutheran Church Building Fund or to the American Diabetes Association
     Phillips Funeral Home in Vinton is in charge of arrangements.
