VINTON:  Sharon Rouse, age 58, died Friday, September 19, 2008 at her home in Vinton following a sudden illness.
     Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM., Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton.  Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery Vinton.  Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, at the funeral home.
     Sharon was born on July 3, 1950 in Vinton, the daughter of LaVerne and Luella (Burris) Rouse.  In October of 1968 she was united in marriage to Thomas E. Lanham in Vinton and the couple later divorced.  Sharon was employed as a cook with the Benton County Sheriffs Office.  She enjoyed spending time outdoors and visiting with family and friends.  Sharon also liked to travel, especially trips to Hannibal, Missouri.
     She is survived by her daughter, Rochelle Lanham of Vinton; four granddaughters, Destiny C. Lanham, of Vinton, Taylor B. Lanham, of Urbana, Olivia R, Lanham and Nyomi R. Lanham, both of Vinton; her brother Larry (Linda) Rouse Sr. of Vinton; her two sisters, Kathy (Gene) Newsome of Hannibal, MO., and Brenda Fennern (Steve) Schutterle of Vinton; and several nieces and nephews.
     In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her daughter, Amber (Lanham) Sanders; her brother Jim Rouse and two nephews, Tim and Tracy Hobart.
     A memorial fund has been established.
