VINTON: Thomas R. Netemeyer, 62, died Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at Virginia Gay Hospital following an extended illness.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Albers, IL at 11AM, on Saturday, December 13, 2008 with Monsignor Donald Eichenseer as Celebrant.
Thomas was born June 19, 1946 at Albers, IL to Alvin and Rita Netemeyer. Thomas served his nation in the US Navy during Vietnam and played baseball on the US Navy team. After his discharge he was employed as a Retail and Contract Sales Representative for General Electric. Thomas loved his career and the people he met during his forty years of employment. He enjoyed horses and buggy rides, spending time with his family, grocery shopping and preparing meals on his grill.
On February 4, 2007 he married Nancy Woodley at Orange Beach, AL. He is survived by his wife, Nancy of Vinton; his children, Jeff and Kristin Netemeyer of Mason City; three grandchildren, Olivia, Thomas and Mary Katherine; his sisters, Barb Hollenkamp, Sammie Lampe, and Maggie Cockerill; and his brothers, Fritz, Dan and Donald Netemeyer.
He was preceded by his parents and infant brother, Joseph.
