ATKINS:  Timothy Allen Block 34, died Wednesday, June 3, 2009 as the result of a traffic accident.
      A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM, Monday, June 8, 2009 at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Atkins with Rev. Douglas Woltemath officiating.  Private Committal Services will be held at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Council Bluffs.  A Memorial Visitation will also be held at the church in Atkins from 3 to 6 PM on Sunday.  A Memorial Fund has been established.
        Timothy was born in Topeka, KS and was the son of Kenneth and Marlene (Menzel) Block.  He was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Atkins where he served as a Church Trustee.  He worked in Security for the Transportation Safety Administration at the Cedar Rapids Airport.
        On July 12, 1997 he was united in marriage to Denise O'Brien at Council Bluffs.  He is survived by his wife, Denise and their young sons, Seth and Steven Block of Atkins; his parents, Kenneth and Marlene Block of Seward, NE; his brothers, David Block of Chicago, Paul Block of Nyack, NY, and Edgar Block of Seward, NE; his sisters, Dawn Schoepflin of Osage City, KS and Dorene Davies and Lois Koplin, both of Olathe, KS; seven nephews and four nieces and his birth mother, Carrellen Lewis of Hutchinson, KS.
         He was preceded in death by his nephew, Logan Block.
         Phillips Funeral Home in Vinton is in charge of arrangements.
