KEYSTONE: Wilbert Stein, 89, died Friday, December 12, 2008 at his residence following a sudden illness.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone with Rev. Dr. James Eggert officiating. Interment will be held at the Keystone Cemetery with Graveside Military Rites conducted by Merkel Bockholt American Legion Post #107. Friends may call at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Keystone from 4 to 7 PM on Monday.
Wilbert was born October 1, 1919 at Keystone to Henry and Lena (Scheel) Stein. During World War II he served his nation in the US Army, and was a member of the Merkel Bockholt American Legion Post #107 of Keystone.
On June 15, 1941 he was united in marriage to M. Jeanne Deppe at Keystone. Wilbert farmed prior to his retirement and he and Jeanne have lived in Keystone since that time.
He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone and a lifetime member of the Keystone Turners.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne of Keystone; his son, Lonnie and fiancée Jane of Swisher; his daughter, Sandy (Ron) Stechcon of Milwaukee, WI; his grandchildren, Tiffaney Carlson and finace, Pete; Tammy (Thuan) Pham; Dea Jo (Brad) Aldrich, and Corey Stein; and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Edna Struck.
