MARION: Willis Stineford, age 73 of 3195 Sunburst Ave., formerly of Blairstown, died Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at his home following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, February 2, 2008 at St. John's Catholic Church in Blairstown, with Father Jack McClure officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Blairstown. Friends may call from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday with a 7:00 PM Vigil Service at the Phillips Funeral Home in Blairstown. He is survived by his wife Darlene; son Steve of North English; daughter Vicki (Steve) Moshier of Marion; grandchildren Marcus and Halle Moshier; and his sister Evelyn (Bert) Charlesworth of Grand Junction Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents; inlaws, William and Marjorie Dozark and his brother-in-law James Agnew. Willis was born September 24, 1934 at Blairstown to Gus and Florence (Fisher) Stineford. He graduated from Blairstown High School with the class of 1952. On August 14, 1954 he married Darlene Dozark at St. John's Catholic Church in Blairstown. The couple farmed South of Blairstown for many years, retiring to Marion to be near their grandchildren. Willis enjoyed his cattle and especially calving time. He was an avid horseback rider and member of the saddle club. He enjoyed fishing and hunting on the farm. A great joy of Willis' was to take his grandchildren to school and then joining his friends for morning coffee. Willis was a longtime member of Farm Bureau and received an Outstanding Leadership Award from the Benton County Cattleman's Association in 1979. A memorial fund has been established for St. Luke's Hospice.
