VINTON:  Brett Theodore Solberg, aged 66, of Vinton, Iowa, was called to his rest on Tuesday, July 30, 2024.

A visitation will be held at 12:00 (noon) on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton.  Funeral services will follow at 1:00 P.M. with Carla Hepker officiating.   Interment will be held at the Rowley Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.  In memory of Brett, a life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered.

Born on January 19, 1958, in Manchester, IA, he was the beloved son of LaVonne (LaTour) Solberg and the late David Solberg. Brett's absence will be profoundly felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Brett attended Independence High School, graduating with the class of 1976, He later pursued higher education in college. He spent many years working in construction and at the nuclear plant in Palo, contributing significantly to his community before his retirement.

A man of faith, Brett was an active member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. His commitment to his faith was evident in his regular participation in Bible study, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Brett was known for his green thumb as a master gardener, his skilled marksmanship as a hunter, and his community involvement in activities such as dragon boat racing and RAGBRAI.

He is survived by his mother, LaVonne Solberg; his children, Nicholas Kresser, Adam Kresser, and Justin Kresser; and numerous nieces and nephews. Brett was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, Frank and Pearl LaTour and Edward Theodore and Leola Fern Solberg; his father, David Solberg; his siblings, Rodney Solberg, Curtis Solberg, Carmen (Solberg) Sherman; and his nephew, Jacob Solberg.
