VINTON:  Carolyn Marie Berger, age 72, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Virginia Gay Nursing & Rehab in Vinton.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Carolyn was born on August 20, 1950, in Vinton, the daughter of John and Roberta (Bordwell) Berger and graduated from Washington High School in Vinton, with the class of 1969.   Carolyn had worked as a CNA at the Virginia Gay Annex for many years.

She is survived by her son, Thomas Hartwig; daughter, Mary Hartwig; 3 granddaughters; her sister, Nancy Gardner; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Patty Berger.
