CENTER POINT:  Charles William (Doc) Troup D.V.M, age 82, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2022 surrounded by family and friends. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Friday, May 6, 2022 at the Phillips Funeral Home in Vinton. Interment will be at 1:00 PM, Saturday at Center Point Cemetery.

Charles was born on March 12, 1940 to Harry and Mary (Randol) Troup in Maxwell, Iowa. He graduated from Maxwell High School in 1958, he then went to study at Iowa State University. He took a 2 year break from college to serve our country in the Army Reserves. He returned to Iowa State to finish his Veterinary Medicine Degree and graduated in 1968.

In the fall of 1968, he moved his family to Center Point, Iowa where he served Center Point and surrounding communities for 51 years. Retiring in 2017.

He leaves behind his daughter Andria (Victor) Jones of Center Point; son, Chris (Shelly) Troup of Center Point; grandchildren, Gary (Michele Squires of Center Point, Cody (Jessica) Jones of Center Point, Clint (Jenny) Jones of Center Point, Koyya Gardner of Urbana, Iowa, Dustin (Anjelica) Papin of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Jessie Williams of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; brother Ray (Sharel) Troup; sisters, Kay (Dave) Zieser, Beth Griffith and 13 great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, and daughter Janine.
