NORTH LIBERTY:  Danielle Elizabeth "Dakota" Kerkman passed tragically on July 14,2023.

A visitation will be held for Erick and his daughter Danielle from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 29, 2023 at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton.  A prayer service will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday, also at the Funeral Home.  A memorial fund will be established.

She was born August 22, 2007 in Lexington NC, becoming the beloved daughter of Courtney and the late Erick Kerkman.  As the first child and grandchild in her family there were hundreds of photos taken of her.  She made the best faces and lit up the room with her dimples.  Danielle was very artistic and always wanted to make everyone happy.  She loved soccer when she was young and swam like a fish.  Covid and all that came with it had changed her.  Danielle had some trying times in her short life but all who really knew her loved her completely.

Danielle is survived by her mom Courtney, brother Daxton, grandparents, Gary & Deb Lohrer and William Kerkman; uncles, Travis, and aunt Jennifer Lohrer, Steve and aunt Kim Lohrer and cousin Max as well as many friends, great aunts, uncles and cousins.  She is preceded in death by her father Erick, grandmother Kathy Kerkman, as well as all of her great grandparents.
